Hello everyone, because of the changes we made during filming, we had to go back and revise parts of our script so it would better match the final version of our film opening. For example, in the original script, the car slowly enters the neighborhood, and we had planned to show the characters interacting with one another inside the car while music played in the background. However, our plan shifted, and we decided to focus more on the neighborhood itself by tightening the sequence so the creepy atmosphere could be established faster through the sign, the dark streets, and the quiet reaction of the protagonist. We also adjusted the garage scene so the half-open garage and the box labeled “Do Not Touch” became more important visual moments, since those shots built suspense better on screen than extra dialogue would have. Another major change was the ending. Instead of directly fading to the protagonist waking up in the backyard, we added scenes that showed the antagonist dragging the body to the backyard and included tracking shots to follow where he was taking it. This led to a significant alteration of the script, but it made the scene feel much more dramatic and suspenseful in the actual film. Overall, these script changes helped everything line up better with the shots we captured and made the opening feel more polished, clear, and effective as a horror thriller. Looking at the revised script now allows us to show how these ideas flow more clearly in our final product.
Here is our revised script:
